McHenry Township Jr Warrior youth football program located in beautiful Mchenry, Lake county, IL, is a pround memeber of The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL), the largest independent youth tackle football league in the United States, fields thousands of players on hundreds of teams from thirty Member Communities based throughout Chicagoland and southeastern Wisconsin, including Antioch, Barrington, Bartlett, Buffalo Grove, Cary, Crystal Lake, Elgin, Gilberts, Grant, Grayslake, Huntley, Lake in the Hills/Algonquin, Lake Villa, Lake Zurich, McHenry, Mundelein, North Chicago, Prairie Ridge, Prospect Heights, Round Lake, Libertyville, Oak Park, Plainfield, Vernon Hills, Warren Township, Wauconda, Waukegan, Western Kenosha County (Wisconsin), Woodstock and Zion.

The McHenry Township Jr. Warriors is non-profit travelling tackle football program which has been apart of McHenry for 35 years. We are proud members of THE CHICAGOLAND YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE (TCYFL). 

Our program is designed for 7-14 year olds still in 8th grade. We offer 5 different levels of play based on your age and weight. Each level has 2/3 Team Levels. 

Age-Weight levels consist of: Bantam, Featherweight, Middleweight, Lightweight and Heavyweight 

TEAM LEVELS CONSIST OF: 

BIG - Is our most competitive team for players who show exceptional skills and understanding of the game. Games are primarily played on Sundays but can also include a Saturday game. 

MAC - Is our Mid-Level competitive team for players who show a good understanding and knowledge of the game. Games are primarily played on Saturdays but may include a Sunday game. 
THERE ARE NO MAC TEAMS FOR BANTAM AND HEAVYWEIGHT 

PAC - Emphasis on instruction, development, participation and learning all the fundementals of the game. Games are primarily played on Saturdays but may include a Sunday game.

Offers two Levels BIG & PAC 

Regular: Max weight-87 lbs. Max age-8 years old 
Older/Lighter: Max weight-57 lbs. Max age-9 years old 
Younger/Heavier(PAC only): Max weight-97 lbs. Max age-6 
Younger/Heavier Striper (PAC only): Max weight-107 lbs. Max age-6 yrs old

FEATHERWEIGHT 
Offers three Levels of play BIG, MAC, and PAC 

Regular: Max weight-97 lbs. Max age-10 yrs old

Regular: Max weight-168 lbs. Max age-14 yrs old. 
Striper(Ineligible ball carrier): Max weight-over 168 lbs. Max age-14 yrs. 


SPECIAL NOTES: 
1. The maximum weights are effective for the first game of the season. All weight limits for each level will increase by one-half pound per week for the entire season, including play-off games. The maximum weights include minimum clothing and/or pad requirements. 

2. Player age is determined by age as of September 1st. Players cannot be enrolled in High School. 

3. Younger/Heavier Exception - Double Striper players must be approved prior to game play by the TCYFL Executive Board and League Council with maximum of one "Double Striper" per team. 

4. A team may roster no more than six Younger/Heavier Stripers. No more than one of which may be a "Double Striper player. A maximum of three Younger/Heavier Stripers, including no more than one Double Striper may be on the field at any one time. 

MTJWs goal is to teach each player at every level the fundementals of football, importance of safety, sportsmanship, responsibility, respect and teamwork. 

MTJW is run soley by non-compensated volunteers and we continue to grow each and every year with the support of our community, players, parents and fans.
